Specifications include, but are not limited to:Washington County is a suburban county located on the western edge of Portland, Oregon. Its boundaries extend from the City of Portland to the coast range. The current population is approximately 530,000 people. There is a mix of urban, suburban and rural areas. The eastern half of the County is composed of service industries, light manufacturing, residential and commercial activity. It is relatively densely populated. The western half is primarily farms and rural settings together with several smaller incorporated and unincorporated communities. The County seat of government is located in Hillsboro, Oregon. The County has experienced substantial growth over the last several years principally in the electronics and high tech industries. Over half of the entire state's population growth in the last five years occurred in Washington County. The County is a home-rule county, governed by five elected Commissioners who appoint a County Administrator as the chief executive of the County. There are currently approximately 1708 employees in all areas of County government who are engaged in providing the multitude of services required by its member cities, businesses and general population. 34GENERAL INFORMATION The objective of this study is to identify the cumulative economic impact, infrastructure needs,fundingprio r i t i e s a n d p o t e n t i a l f u n d i n g s o u r c e s f o r W a s h i n g t o n C o u n t y s S o u t h Industrial area. This area, comprised of approximately 1800 acres of industrial land, is the largest new industrial area in the County. This project will give the County and cities information to assess the costs and benefits of infrastructure investments for the study area as a whole, so that efforts to implement plans compliment the whole area and potential funding partnerships are identified. Each jurisdiction has completed, or is in the process of developing, a concept plan for their anticipated annexation areas.
