Specifications

Specifications include, but are not limited to:A. Dynamic Rideshare Software Requirements Using the specifications below, bidders must indicate in detail how the proposed software meets each of the specified system functions. Bidders that successfully demonstrate their ability to meet the features described below will be ranked highest in the software design and functionality section of the evaluation criteria. 1.Software Design Requirement The software must be built on open standards using published and fully documented external application programming interfaces (APIs) that allow the software to be programmed to function in ways other than the original programmer intended, without requiring modification of the source code. The use of an open platform, based on publically available open standards, will allow a third party to add features or functionality that the software vendor did not complete or envision.2.System Capabilities a. Client Registration (required) Provide interface(s) for users to easily register for the system and create a profile that will include at a minimum: the system users name, their home zip code, a valid email address to contact them at, a number to text them at and any special customer characteristics. b. Planned matching (required) Allow registered riders to secure and share a ride with a few hours notice using live communication technologies (webpage, phone, smart phone app). c. Real-time matching (required) Allow riders to register and share a ride with a few minutes notice using live communication technologies (webpage, phone, smart phone app). d. Ride Reminder Through Text (required) Allows riders to receive a ride reservation reminder through a text message. e. Scheduling (required) Assign individual riders to vehicles based on the most efficient way to deliver a group to their destination(s). Routing directions, optimized for minimum trip times should be available for the driver to review prior to starting the trip. The software needs to offer a way to schedule hard stops at certain sites such as a transit stop, or work site, with other trips scheduled around that hard stop, so that riders will make it to a work site or transit stop on time. There may be a need to create other hard stops as well so that a drivers schedule offers some predictability for regular riders.
