Specifications include, but are not limited to:This contract shall be for Plowing snow from the Districts parking lots, driveway, and entrances by 6:00 a.m. whenever snow reaches the depth of two (2) inches as measured on the District premises or when drifting occurs. Questionable conditions need to be pre-approved by the Grounds Supervisor or designated District representative. Unless otherwise arranged, the Contractor will remove snow on building approaches anywhere that a plow can adequately travel. This includes removing snow on sidewalks. Contractors should generally clear the building approaches with no assumption that any District personnel will shovel the last few feet up to the doors. Salting shall be completed on all District parking lots, building approaches and sidewalks. If snow must be removed from the District premises by a loader, the contractor will arrange for such service to be performed. It is the responsibility of the Contractor to notify the Grounds Supervisor or designated representative at 616-738-6974 if snow removal is needed. If there is an additional charge for excessive snow amounts the bidder must include the additional charge in the bid. The bidder will repair any damages caused by plowing. This includes both lawn and landscaping. Additional plowing for unique daytime, evening, and weekend activities will be at the request of the District. The bid form has a line where the bidder can provide a price for plowing for special events. Examples of events that would require extra plowing are basketball games, swimming meets, theatrical productions, music performances, parent meetings, and similar activities that often occur at night or on weekends. These types of events will generally occur at one of the high schools or Harbor Lights Middle School at the Performing Arts Center. Bid price shall be for the 2016-2017 and 2017-2018 seasons. The District reserves the right to t e r m i n a t e t h e c o n t r a c t a t a n y t i m e d u e t o t h e c o n t r a c t o r s f a i l u r e to comply with the terms of the contract. The District will notify the contractor of termination ten (10) days prior to any action being instituted. The contractor will be permitted a rebuttal during this period
