Specifications include, but are not limited to: The primary purpose of the RMS system is to support the operational goals of the Sheriffs Office. These goals and the ways in which the new RMS system are expected to bolster them are outlined below. a. Enhance Officer Safety The Sheriffs Office intends for the new system to enhance officer safety by providing mobile access which will enable officers to query California Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) and CLETS records from the field and send and receive urgent notifications. Currently, Sheriffs Office deputies query DVM and CLETS records via a limited number of tablets and older MDTs using different interfaces. The majority of queries are run via voice through dispatchers and records clerks. Officers do not have access to a history of prior queries having been run.
