Specifications include, but are not limited to:The purpose of this RFP and any resulting contract award is to solicit offers for a hardware based appliance solution for a Security Risk Management Tool. The purpose of the tool is to help security and network security operations with firewall policy management, complex policy change workflows, compliance audit and management of multiple firewall vendors. NC DIT provides technology services to state agencies and other government customers across North Carolina, including hosting, network, and security services. The state maintains over 2,000 managed WAN sites across North Carolina, 2 interconnected and geographically dispersed data center facilities, and 8 POP sites across the state. The NC DIT network is MPLS based, containing over 200 VRFs to maintain customer separation. VRFs may traverse multiple PE routers. PE routers at each of the Data Centers may contain over 600,000 routes, peering with our Internet service providers. This request includes the product (hardware, software, and support) as well as professional services to assist with the initial deployment and integration. Key considerations for the offered solution are: functional capabilities and technical soundness to satisfy business requirements, including performance, ongoing operations and support (manageability), scalability for growth and cost. The goal is to implement an enterprise-scope system that provides high availability services, incorporates industry best practices, improves the efficiency and effectiveness of operations, satisfies security and business functionality needs and delivers the most value at a cost-effective price.a) Indefinite Quantity Contract. This solicitation will establish a Convenience Contract pursuant to 9 NCAC 06B.0701 for an indefinite quantity contract between a Vendor and the State. The quantity of goods or Services is undetermined. An estimated quantity based on past history or other means may be used as a guide, but shall not be a representation by the State of any anticipated purchase volume under any contract made pursuant to this solicitation
