Specifications include, but are not limited to:Lee County Board of County Commissioners anticipates seeking professional marine consultant services with minimum 10 years marine experience, with the project leader having a minimum of 5 years with the remaining being the project team to provide Engineering Services for the delivery of Design and Construction Documents, Technical Specifications, and Construction Administration for the Sanibel Causeway Shoreline Stabilization project. If any team member leaves, County must approve replacement. The Sanibel Causeway Center Island shoreline has experienced chronic erosion caused by coastal forces and stormwater runoff from the roadway. Lee County has imported fill over the years in the attempt to address the erosion and in some areas have extended the seawall and armored the shoreline with riprap. Coastal Engineering Consultants, Inc. (CEC) was contracted by Lee County to conduct a Planning Study to identify the causes of erosion and develop potential solutions to address the chronic erosion problem while preserving the functionality of the park. A copy of their finding is attached as Exhibit "B". The anticipated scope of work may include, but not necessarily be limited to, detailed design and construction administration of the following stabilization improvements: San Carlos Bay Shoreline A shoreline stabilization solution at appropriate locations and orientations, and the installation of signage to minimize the disruption to marine traffic. Replace existing undersized riprap with appropriately sized riprap at needed locations, if required. Any replaced riprap will need to be removed. Sand fill to regain a percentage of land lost at appropriate locations. Stabilization measures at areas scoured by stormwater runoff. Pine Island Sound Shoreline Sufficiently sized riprap at needed locations to improve the existing armoring, if required. Sand fill to regain a percentage of land lost at appropriate locations. Stabilization measures at areas scoured by stormwater runoff. The selected consultant shall be responsible for procuring all necessary permits, and meeting all local, Lee County, state, and federal requirements. Consideration will be given to only those firms that are qualified pursuant to law
