Specifications include, but are not limited to:Sealed bids will be received by Jim Shatto, Strategic Sourcing Specialist, UM Supply Chain/ Procurement Services, 1011 E. 51st Street, GSB Room 015, Kansas City, MO, 64110 until 2:00 PM, CDT, Monday May 9nd, 2016 and should be marked Bid response for the sale of STANDING HARDWOOD TIMBER You are invited to bid on state-owned forest products. There are 544 trees marked for sale (Table 1). Approximately 65% of the marked trees are 20 inches in diameter or larger, and white oak make up 67% of the total number of marked trees. The white oak species group makes up a little over 59% of the sale volume (Table 2.) The total merchantable volume is 169,742 board feet International or 162,095 board feet Doyle. Of the 162,095 board feet Doyle 96,179 board feet are in the white oak species, and of this total 30% of the volume is estimated in stave quality logs. There are a total of 64 black walnut trees marked for sale. Of this total 22 trees may have some veneer potential. Table 3 shows the individual veneer tree with information on tree size, veneer log and upper sawlog volumes. All the trees to be removed are marked with 2 spots of blue paint. The timber was marked by Dr. John Dwyer, Consulting Forester. In addition, there are 38 trees that were marked as dead or cull. Of this total, 17 were black walnut and 16 were white oak. These trees ranged in diameter from 14 to 34 inches in diameter. Dead trees were marked if their bark was still intact and tight and/or showed evidence of dying within the last year or two. Cull trees were marked if they sounded doty or had some other mechanical defect which made their marketable value questionable
