Specifications include, but are not limited to:1. This traffic paint is to be used in conjunction with glass spheres to produce pavement delineation that is visible during both day and night condition2. All striping shall be applied by mechanical equipment, with provisions for constant agitation of paint, traveling at constant controlled speeds, with one or more paint nozzles synchronized to begin and cut off paint flow automatically in the case of specified skip lines and subject to manual control in the case of continuous lines of varying length. In addition, the machine, or a separate machine, shall be equipped with a reflective media dispenser adjusted and so synchronized with the paint applicator as to distribute the reflectorzing media uniformly on the painted surface within ten (10) seconds of the initial application 3. All pavement area to be painted shall be thoroughly cleaned. Cleaning shall be done by hand brooms, rotary brooms, air blast, scrapers or whatever combination of equipment is necessary to clean the pavement without damages to the surface or the physical condition of the surface material. Before edge striping operations proceed, all vegetation, loose soil and all foreign materials shall be removed from the area to be painted. Striping shall follow as closely as practicable after the surface has been cleaned and is free from any moisture. 4. Uniformly painted and reflectorized markings of required length and width with true, sharp edges and ends shall be applied on prepared and dried surfaces in conformity with the specifications, drawings, or established control points. The length and width of lines shall conform within a tolerance of plus or minus three (4) inches and plus or minus one-eighth (1/8) inch.
