Capital Metropolitan Transportation Authority (CMTA) is purchasing up to 188 buses over the next 5 years that will need to be equipped with the Danger Zone Deflector, also referred to as the S-1 Gard, or an equivalent system or equivalent device. The Danger Zone Deflector is a safety device installed in front of the curbside rear dual wheels that is intended to reduce injury and fatalities of pedestrians who fall in the path of these tires. CMTA is seeking a qualified company to supply the appropriate model of safety device for the bus types being purchased. The buses are coming from two different builders, Gillig and MCI, and are being delivered throughout the term of the contract awarded via this solicitation.No additional specifications were given.
