Specifications include, but are not limited to:The University of Minnesota Rosemount Research Outreach Center is located in 1605 160th Street West Rosemount, MN, 55068. The current administrative building for the College of Food, Agriculture, and Natural Resources (CFANS) will no longer be available for lease beginning in September of 2016. CFANS has a site that has been identified that will be available to either build a new building or install a modular building, where the current members of staff will move to.The University is looking for a design builder to design and build approximately 2,800SqFt building or a pre-fabricated modular building set on a crawl foundation with concrete footers, whichever is cheaper. The building will consist of 4 offices, restrooms for men and women, a kitchen and a conference room that can fit at least 12 people. The designer will be required to have a Civil Engineer on the team for site preparation, grading, and placement of the building, as well as a registered Architect who will prepare a code analysis for the needed permits. If the choice is to go with a prefabricated building, the designer will work closely with the University Building Codes office to identify all that will be need for codes approval including a stamp/label that shows the prefabricated building has been inspected and meet all pre fab inspection requirements. This includes ADA accessibility and fire/life safety. The identified site has utilities close by. The design builder will bring in water from a nearby well, or tap a water line from nearby buildings whichever is more cost effective. The design builder will be expected to build a 20 car parking lot, and work closely with Excel Energy on what will be needed to hook up electric power for the building. The current administrative building uses gas for heating. The design builder will evaluate if this is more cost effective than electric, and make provisions for gas heating in the design, as well as hookups for LP Storage as needed.
