Specifications include, but are not limited to: 130 linear feet of flashing cement on the 237-255 Essex Street Buildings at thereglets. The mastic materials in the reglets are to be left in place and the membraneroofing shall be carried a minimum of 6 above the reglet and terminated with the surfacemounted termination bar per the details on the plans. A regulated area(s) shall be established at the perimeter of the work area(s), and accessshall be controlled by the Contractor. A remote personnel decontamination unit shall beutilized. Removal shall be undertaken in accordance with OSHA Class II and USEPAAsbestos NESHAP requirements. Work under this item shall include the abatement of non-friable roofing and sealantasbestos containing materials (ACM) and associated work by persons who areknowledgeable, qualified, trained and licensed in the removal, treatment, handling,and disposal of ACM and the subsequent cleaning of the affected environment.ACM shall include material composed of any type of asbestos in amounts greaterthan one percent (1%) by weight. The Contractor performing this work shall betrained as an Asbestos Associated Worker in accordance with the MassachusettsDepartment of Labor Standards (MDLS).
