Specifications include, but are not limited to:The intent of the project is to reinforce the existing deck railings of the Ridgefield Golf Course Restaurant in conformance with current building code requirements along with incidental work including stairway handrail installation and post replacement. The work is generally described below. It is the Contractors responsibility to provide any additional labor, materials, tools, or equipment necessary to properly reinforce the railing system and complete the incidental work as noted within these specifications, detail drawings, and building code requirements to meet the projects intent. 1.It is the Contractors responsibility to determine and provide the amount of work and materials necessary to meet the projects intent. 2.Obtain all required building permits and pay all associated fees. 3.Submit all required material certifications, shop drawings, and procedures to the projects engineer for approval prior to the start of construction. 4.All work shall be in accordance with the 2003 International Building code (IBC) with 2005 CT Supplement with 2009, 2011, and 2013 amendments. 5.All contractors and subcontractors shall visit the project site and familiarize themselves with the building and working conditions. 6.It is the Contractors sole responsibility to follow all applicable safety codes and regulations during all phases of construction. 7.The Contractor shall take all steps necessary to protect the public during the course of the project. The public shall be allowed to safely access the southerly stairway exit at all times. The Contractor shall provide and install all necessary barricades to keep the public away from the work area. 8. It is the Contractors sole responsibility to determine construction procedures and sequences, and to ensure the safety of the existing building, its components, and its occupants during construction. This includes the addition of whatever shoring, bracing, underpinning, etc. that may be necessary. 9. The Contractor shall verify all dimensions, elevations, angles, and existing conditions before proceeding with any work. 10. Where details are not indicated, they shall be considered typical and apply at same and similar conditions. 11. Coordinate all work with the adjacent restaurant. 12. Demolish all structural items necessary to complete the described projects intent. All demolished items are to be disposed of legally at the Contractors expense. 13. Provide all labor, materials, tools, and equipment necessary to effect the railing reinforcement, northerly exterior staircase hand rail, and SW corner deck post.
