Specifications include, but are not limited to:Services to be provided include: 1) an evaluation of the scholarship awarding process to new freshmen; and 2) a review of current enrollment management tactics along with recommendations to formalize enrollment management methodologies. A comprehensive review of freshmen scholarship awards is sought to consider the budget allocation, methodology utilized to make awards, and general awarding philosophy in order to maximize the impact of the allocation from a fixed scholarship budget. The university, like most institutions, leverages scholarships to recruit top students from Kentucky and other states in order to meet various recruitment goals (e.g., student profile typically measured by ACT score and grade point average). The review will focus on centrally controlled scholarship funds which represent the vast majority of scholarships available to entering freshmen. Scholarships awarded by academic departments will not be included. The review should also include an analysis of transfer scholarships, the scholarship program designed for out-of-state students (National Scholars Program), and the University of Louisvilles current policy to enable students within the Speed School of Engineering to receive 5-years of scholarship support in order to obtain a Masters in Engineering (M.Eng.) degree. A critical review of current enrollment management tactics employed by the University of Louisville is sought in order to guide the work of the newly created Strategic Enrollment Management Steering Committee. This review will be informed by the findings of the scholarship award review as previously outlined, but it will aim to inform the retention and persistence practices of the university as well as its recruitment goals, strategy and practice. The Committee is seeking guidance in order to prioritize its work for the next year, to identify specific reports or benchmark data to utilize, and to establish clear long-term goals for the university. This work will culminate in the formation of a long-term strategic enrollment management plan for recruitment and retention, ultimately crafted by the University of Louisville
