Specifications include, but are not limited to:EWEBs Electric Division includes the generation, transmission, and distribution of electricpower. Electric service is delivered within the city limits of Eugene and specific areas outsidethe city limits in the Southern Willamette Valley. The total service area covers 235.6 squaremiles. The average number of electric customers is around 87,000, with an average load of300MVA and peak load 614MVA.EWEBs electrical system consists of: Over 150 circuit-miles of 69kV and 115kV overhead transmission lines and 3.3 circuitmilesof underground 115kV transmission lines; 38 substations with a total of 1.9MVA transformer capacity; Over 550 circuit-miles of 7.2kV or 12.47kV overhead and over 500 circuit-miles ofunderground distribution lines; and Two 216Y/125V low voltage secondary network systems with several 480Y/277V spotswhich provide power to EUGENE downtown and Sacred Heart Hospital area.EWEB has: Eight (8) generation facilities totaling 274 MW of nameplate capacity. A telecommunications system including over 180 miles of fiber optic, land-mobile-radio,and microwave radio. EWEB owns and manages the system for its own use, and alsoprovides services for other public agencies and some commercial entities.EWEBs power resources are: purchased from Bonneville Power Administration (BPA) - 74 % self-owned generation 22% externally purchased WATER SYSTEMEWEB operates a public community water system serving Eugene, Oregon, and a smallnumber of customers located outside the city limits. EWEBs service area is generally boundby Interstate 5 on the east, the McKenzie and Willamette Rivers on the north, rural areasand farmland on the west, and forested hills on the south.EWEBs estimated service population is approximately 180,000 and average water demandstypically range from 20 to 25 mgd. Peak water demand can approach 70 mgd in the summermonths.To meet demand, EWEB draws water from the McKenzie River through two raw waterintakes located in east Springfield. The intakes transfer water to the nearby Hayden BridgeFiltration Plant. This plant, constructed in several phases from 1948 to present, has acurrent capacity of approximately 80 mgd. A pump station at the filtration plant deliverswater to Eugenes water distribution system through two parallel transmission pipelines.The water distribution system consists of 19 enclosed reservoirs with a combined storagecapacity of 91 million gallons, 25 pump stations and approximately 800 miles of distributionmains.
