Specifications include, but are not limited to:The purpose of this document is to provide interested parties with information to enable them to prepare andsubmit a proposal for provision of claims services for the Injured Patients and Families Compensation Fund(Fund).The State as represented by the Office of the Commissioner of Insurance (OCI) intends to use the results of thisprocess to award a contract.1.2 Scope of the projectThe Office of the Commissioner of Insurance is seeking a contractor to administer claims services on behalf of theInjured Patients and Families Compensation Fund.1.2.1 Project descriptionThe claims services contract for the Fund includes duties related to claims administration,including review of appeals or other administrative options, and recordkeeping and preparation ofmanagement reports.The Fund has paid 673 claims totaling $862 million since its inception in 1975 through June 2015.During the same period, 6,036 claims have been reported/filed, and 5,228 claims were closed without anyindemnity (loss) payment. The Funds aggregate case loss reserves as of June 30, 2015, totaled $4 millionrepresenting 6 cases.
