Specifications include, but are not limited to:1 GENERAL The purpose of this RFP is for the Contractor to provide services to repair and repaint the historic wooden fence that encloses the rear and side yards of the Humber House. 5.2 OBJECTIVES The scope of work includes repairing existing wood fence components to match existing, landscaping work around fence and repainting the entire fence. 5.3 TASKS The Contractor shall: a. Prune shrubbery and other vegetation in contact with the fence prior to undertaking repair work of the fence. Areas of built-up leaves or mulch that are in contact with the fence shall be removed. Areas of accumulated soil in the vicinity of the eastern gate shall be regraded to allow operation of the gates. b. Repair existing wood fence components to match existing. These components include: pickets (vertical fence boards); framework (post, top rail, middle rail, bottom rail, braces, and upper portion framing); trim; cap board; and lattice. If these elements are deteriorated beyond repair (rotten, severely warped, damaged, or missing), then the replacements shall be made of pressure-treated wood, be attached with appropriate galvanized or stainless-steel fasteners, and shall match the appearance, size, design, and profiles of the existing woodwork. c. Repair the sets of two (2) double-gates into operating condition. This work shall include repair and/or replacement of the existing hardware. Truss rods shall be added to the entrance drive gates on the west side. Truss rods already exist on the east side gates. These shall be replaced if needed. d. Clean and repaint entire fence following the repair work. The Contractor shall be responsible for following proper techniques for this work.
