Specifications include, but are not limited to:Work tasks resulting from this RFP include, but may not be limited to the following.Collect samples, submit for laboratory analysis and provide a laboratory report of the radonconcentrations in water at Department assigned sites. This work must be conducted incompliance with all rules and regulations of the Maine Radiation Control Program,http://www.maine.gov/dhhs/mecdc/environmental-health/rad/ . The sampling procedurefor radon in water should minimize the possibility of radon loss during sampling. Properpurging of the plumbing to ensure that the sample is representative of the water comingdirectly from the well is necessary. The samples should then be taken according to thetechniques recommended by the Radon Section of the Maine Radiation Control Program.Laboratories used for analysis must be certified by the State of Maine for radon in wateranalysis. Mileage rates must be at or below the State of Maine travel policy rates. Currentrates can be found at http://www.maine.gov/osc/travel/addtltravelinfo.shtml.Provide the Department with a laboratory report of the Radon analysis. All laboratoryreports must be submitted by the laboratory in the form of an EDD in addition to the paperreport. Instructions for using and submitting the EDD is described on the DEP websitehttp://www.maine.gov/dep/maps-data/egad/index.html.
