The current system was upgraded in 2014 to operate on Windows 7 computers. The systemhas been in place since 2004 and had crashed in 2014. The upgrades in 2014 should prolongthe life of the current system. If the system were to fully crash, then the Recorder's Office wouldnot be able to perform general operations.Replacing the system would eliminate these risks.The previous system was not replaced in 2009 due to the cost associated with the registeredland component. Now that registered land is abolished, it will be more cost effective toupgrade.
