Specifications include, but are not limited to:All helmets must be tested using National Operating Committee on Standards for Athletic Equipment (NOCSAE) standards and testing procedures. A. Face masks and hardware are to be removed, inspected and replaced as required under NOCSAE standards. Reconditioned helmets will be returned with the original accessories. B. Helmets are to be engraved inside with ID number and year manufactured (stickers are not sufficient). C. Remove and inspect all interior parts and replace, if necessary with new parts. D. All decals are to be removed. E. Helmet is to be buffered and sanded if painted (schools option), or buff, shine and wax. F. Helmets are to be inspected for cracks, hairline cracks, and any other defects. G. Helmets are to be cleaned, sanitized and rinsed to kill staph and MRSA bacteria. H. Helmets are to be tested and re-certified if they pass testing. I. Helmets are to be re-painted (school option) and waxed. J. Reattach face masks and hardware. K. Install existing interior components or replace with OEM parts as needed. L. Apply original manufacturer warning, labels, and size and re-certification labels inside and out. M. Account for all internal parts and shells will be destroyed and not returned to the school N. All defective parts and shells will be destroyed and not returned to the school. O. All good parts from rejected helmets shall be inspected and if suitable for play, be returned to each school in a separate box m a r k e d , S u i t a b l e f o r p l a y . P. All helmets should be sized Q. All helmets will be NOCSAE re-certified according to NAERA standards for the next and upcoming season
