Specifications include, but are not limited to:The objective of this research is to develop a primer for airport operators andstakeholders on the Internet of things (IoT) within the airport environment to leveragecurrent and emerging technologies.The primer should include at a minimum the following: How other industries have implemented the IoT and relate its application to the airportenvironment; Description of barriers and limitations to IoT implementation and how they can beovercome. The barriers and limitations should include at a minimum the following: o Security, o Regulatory, o Privacy issues, o Demographic differences in the adoption of technology, and o Aging Infrastructure; Data collaboration and information sharing methods, techniques, and standards thatbenefit airport stakeholders by interacting with: o Tenants, o Airlines, and o The connected community; The intersection between airport processes and the passenger with the IoT in theairport environment; Infrastructure requirements; Application of the IoT at general aviation and small hub airports; and Emerging capabilities.
