Specifications include, but are not limited to:The purpose of CPS Preparation for Adult Living (PAL) program, which is part of Transitional Living Services, is to prepare youth and young adults for their transition from foster care to a successful adulthood. Services, benefits, resources and supports are provided to help youth and young adults before healthy, productive adults. The PAL program makes efforts to connect youth and young adults to community resources they will need in adulthood. HHSC, on behalf of DFPS, seeks input from all interested parties, including qualified and experienced entities who have provided or who may be interested in providing a "PAL Experiential Camp." The PAL Experiential Camps give participants the opportunity to have hands-on learning activities that they can relate to real life experiences that promote their transition to a successful adulthood. Specifically, the camps should help youth in DFPS Conservatorship ages 16-21 build confidence, team building skills and self-esteem. Each camp must consist of activities that complement all of the PAL Life Skills Training core elements: Personal and Social Relationships Job Readiness Financial Management Page 4 of 7Housing and Transportation Health and Safety Life Decisions and Responsibilities.
