Specifications include, but are not limited to:Pre-Employment Medical Examinations are required for applicants who have received a conditional offer of employment for the trooper or motor carrier positions. The medical examination will include a review of the applicants medical history, testing, paperwork, bloodwork, and collection of drug screening specimens. Medical exams will be performed within 180 days of MSP beginning a recruit school. The medical facility shall be located in the Eaton or Ingham County area in order to facilitate daily contact with MSP Recruiting and Selection Staff.The State reserves the right to modify Contract items to meet the needs of MSP.1. General Requirements1.1. RequirementsThe Contractor must provide the following:Physicians licensed in the State of Michigan to evaluate patient history and perform medical examinations. The State reserves the right to verify certification status with the Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs.Physicians must be certified in Immediate Post-Concussion Assessment and Cognitive Testing baseline testing (ImPACT).Physicians must be located within Ingham or Eaton County in order to facilitate daily personal contact with MSP Recruiting and Selection Section staff. Applicants anywhere in Michigan and outside Michigan will use the facility. This location is strategic and essential in last minute preparation for recruit schools. Numerous administrative details are completed on the day of medical assessment.Perform examinations between the hours of 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday and Saturday, as needed.Must be able to schedule examinations for 10-15 applicants per day, or singularly, as needed.Provide examination results within three business days of the applicants completed exam.Provide an adequate medical testing facility that includes:Properly trained personnel capable of carrying out all requirements of all proceduresFully operational procedures and programsFree and adequate parkingPerform all of the following tests for each applicant:History and medical examinationBlood analysis (blood chemistry, SMAC-12/20)Dipstick UrinalysisVisual acuity testing for near and far distance (corrected and uncorrected)Audiogram, with interpretationPeak flow (Asthma screen) with vital capacity
