Specifications include, but are not limited to:The State of Maryland provides an expansive range of employee benefit plans to approximately 76,000 ActiveEmployees, 1,800 SLEOLA Employees, 2,200 Satellite Account Employees, 1,300 Direct Pay Enrollees, 12,000 NonMedicareRetirees, 29,000 Medicare Retirees, and their covered Dependents. All Members and Dependents as definedin this RFP are eligible for coverage.Current benefit plans include medical, prescription dental, group term life, accidental death and dismemberment, andflexible spending accounts.These benefits are offered to a diverse workforce that includes clerical, administrative, technical, academic,professional, maintenance, educational (State colleges and universities), public safety, and appointed and electedofficials at more than 300 different worksites.Due to the large number of State employees, a diverse population and numerous employee work locations, the Statesponsors annual Benefit Fairs during each annual open enrollment period. The State expects to conduct 140 or moreOpen Enrollment Benefit Fairs plus 150 or more monthly and/or quarterly wellness events throughout the State eachyear to answer employee and retiree questions and enhance engagement in the plans offered.The State currently offers a self-insured pharmacy program for Active, Satellite, Direct Pay, and Non-Medicareemployees and retirees. All Medicare-eligible retirees are offered prescription coverage through a self-insured EGWPplan. Both plans are currently administered by one PBM and have approximately 211,000 employees/retirees,spouses, and dependents (108,700 employees/retirees) enrolled. Of these members, 38,500 are Medicare-eligibleretirees and spouses. The chart below provides a breakout of the enrollment as of December 2015 by employeestatus.
