Specifications include, but are not limited to:The contractor shall provide/perform the following:All labor, materials, equipment, and related costs to perform services for the extermination and control of pests of all kinds including, but not limited to, rats, mice, roaches, water bugs, fleas, silverfish, spiders, ants, and termites in City owned buildings.Pest Control (exclusive of termites):Integrated Pest Control Management (IPM) - The contractor shall use all applicable and practical methods of controlling pests including inspection/evaluation, sanitation, mechanical control, cultural control, and the judicious use of pesticides when required and practical are incorporated into the program, but the emphasis is on the limited use of chemical control methods. It is important to clearly understand that IPM is not just about minimizing the use of pesticides, but rather it is about taking a more holistic approach to pest management. Holistic is defined as emphasizing the importance of the whole and the interdependence of its parts.The City jail shall be serviced on a semi-monthly (twice a month) basis. All other City buildings shall be serviced once monthly. If pests are observed between service calls, the contractor shall be notified. Contractor shall respond within two (2) City business days after notification by the City. Contractor shall retreat for pests at no additional charge to the City.Contractor shall immediately clean any spillage, including but not limited to, floor spotting, and unnecessary wall splashing.Contractor shall be local or accept collect calls from City representatives requesting services.All chemicals used in connection with this contract shall be approved by the appropriate regulatory agencies. Chemicals shall be applied by or under the direct supervision of a Virginia Certified Pesticide Applicator with a Commercial Pesticide Applicator permit. Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) shall be provided to each department under this contract at least one (1) week prior to the first application. Contractor shall notify each department representative concerning any employee health hazards or precautionary measures necessary during service.All departments have established a point of contact within their department for all matters relating to this contract. Refer to Pricing Schedule, Section IV.Contractor shall be required to submit separate monthly invoices for processing, in duplicate, to each individual department that has received services.All departments shall be contacted by the contractor, in advance, to establish times and dates for service. Some departments may require service either prior to, or after normal City working hours. If the contractors representative is told upon arrival by the departments contact that they are not to service the building, then they are to have the individual write on the service ticket and sign it. This will constitute service for that department. No payment will be made for sites that do not have written documentation and verification that the service was performed.Contractor shall be required to document service at each location by log or ticket (provided by the contractor in three (3) parts) and shall include all the information as shown in Attachment C. Log or ticket shall be acknowledged by the point of contact that has been established within the department being serviced. A copy of the log or ticket shall be given to the point of contact, and a copy attached to the monthly invoice.
