Specifications include, but are not limited to:This Invitation for Bid (IFB) is to establish a Contract with an authorized dealer able to provide OriginalEquipment Manufacturer (OEM) parts and repair services for City of Austin (City) Detroit Dieseland Mercedes Diesel Engines. A Contract will be awarded to provide OEM parts and repair serviceson an as-needed basis as stipulated in this solicitation. While this contract is intended to provide nonwarrantyrepair services, the resultant Contractor must be authorized by the manufacturer to providewarranty repair services.1.2 The Contract will be utilized by the Fleet Services Department. The City reserves the right to allowother City Departments to utilize the Contract.1.3 The City intends to solicit bids in response to this IFB and reserves the right to compare those bidsto established cooperative purchasing organization contracts operating within the State of Texas andauthorized by the Austin City Council. Examples of City authorized cooperative purchasingorganizations include, but are not limited to, the following: U.S. Communities, Houston-GalvestonArea Council of Governments (HGAC), Texas Procurement and Support Services, Texas LocalGovernment Purchasing Cooperative (BuyBoard), and The Cooperative Purchasing Network(TCPN).1.4 It is the Citys preference to award a single contract for the Detroit Diesel and Mercedes Diesel engineparts and repair service needs of Fleet Services; however, if the cooperative purchasing prices arelower than the bid prices received, the City reserves the right to reject all bids entirely and makemultiple contract awards between a cooperative and the lowest, responsive and responsible bidder.Award may be based on individual or groups of specific line items deemed by the City to be mostadvantageous. The City also reserves the right to refrain from awarding any lines or group of specificline items as a result of this solicitation and, instead, award the entire contract to a supplier availablethrough a cooperative purchasing agreement.
