Specifications include, but are not limited to:SCOPE OF WORK/SPECIFICATIONSINTRODUCTION:Midlands Technical College is a two-year Associate Degree granting institution that is part of the S.C. State Technical College System. Midlands Technical College serves the counties of Richland, Lexington, and Fairfield in S.C. and has a yearly enrollment of approximately 15,000 credit and 30,000 continuing education students. Midlands Technical College was awarded a five-year Title III grant through the U.S. Department of Education to improve the way advisement is done for students taking college credit courses at the College.Currently, Midlands Technical College does not have an automated system for making advisement appointments. Students call various numbers, depending on their major, and therefore students are dependent on someone being physically available to answer a phone during regular business hours in order to make an appointment with an advisor, often on a paper calendar. Students often have to leave a message for someone to call them back to make an appointment. The current system is inefficient, labor intensive, and time consuming for students and staff. By purchasing an automated online advisement appointment system, the College hopes to improve the efficiency in connecting a student with an appropriate advisor, thereby increasing the likelihood that more students will be advised early enough to enroll in the best courses for them and decreasing the number of students who come to late registration. In closing, Midlands Technical College is seeking a system that will enhance and increase contacts between students and advisors providing a better overall educational experience for students that should increase course completion and retention.3.0 SCOPE OF WORKThe Contractor shall provide software that will:3.1.
