Specifications include, but are not limited to:This contract provides for the replacement and maintenance of traffic barrier w-beam andattenuators on an as-needed basis. The work on this contract is intended to be on an on call basis.The work under this contract may be performed at the facilities of Baltimore Harbor TunnelThruway, Fort McHenry Tunnel, Francis Scott Key Bridge, Harry W. Nice Memorial Bridge, JohnF. Kennedy Memorial Highway, Point Breeze Office Complex, Thomas J. Hatem Memorial Bridge,Intercounty Connector and the William Preston Lane Jr. Memorial Bridge and related approachroadways located in Anne Arundel County, Baltimore City, Baltimore County, Cecil County,Charles County, Harford County, Howard County, Montgomery County, Prince Georges County,Queen Annes County, New Castle County (DE), and King George County (VA).1. This contract will cover three (3) years of replacement and maintenance of trafficbarrier w-beam and attenuator work as indicated in this IFB. The term will beginone day after Notice to Proceed of the Contract.2. In case of an emergency repair as designated by the Engineer, the Contractor shall beon site with the appropriate materials (i.e. traffic barrier w-beam post, traffic barrierw-beam panel, traffic barrier w-beam offset block, traffic barrier end treatment, etc.)to perform the repair work within four (4) hours of notification. On a normal repair,work is expected to take place within two weeks of notification.Portions of this work may have to be performed on an emergency basis rather than as a routineproject. If an emergency situation arises, the Contractor hereby agrees to give the emergencysituation first priority until the emergency is resolved, even though this may be at the expense ofother tasks for which the Contractor is responsible.The Contractor should understand that certain time-sensitive tasks may incur liquidated damagesup to $1,000 per Calendar Day, if the work is not completed on time. If liquidated damages areapplicable, it will be stipulated in the task order issued by MDTA.Work shall be performed as directed by the Engineer and may not be on a continual basis.The Contractor will stockpile two (2) of the following end treatments at a MDTA facilitydesignated by the Engineer:Item No. 6039 Type E Traffic Barrier End Treatment for 50 MPH, Any WidthItem No. 6040 Type E Traffic Barrier End Treatment for 60 MPH, Any WidthItem No. 6041 Type E Traffic Barrier End Treatment for 70 MPH, Any Width
