Specifications include, but are not limited to:The VCCS private WAN connects all 23 VCCS colleges (40 official campuses and numerous satellite locations), theSystem Office and Enterprise Primary and Secondary Data Centers. The VCCS WAN peers with the commodity Internetvia 10 Gigabit connections located in Ashburn and Richmond. The majority of these circuits connect at speeds of 100Mbps to 300 Mbps and are in the process of being upgraded to 300 Mbps, 500 Mbps and gigabit speeds. In the nearfuture, all of these primary circuits will be backed up with a smaller secondary circuit (40 Mbps 100 Mbps) from adifferent provider for redundancy.III. STATEMENT OF NEEDSVCCS is seeking qualified offerors to manage, monitor and alert on 40 edge routers for approximately 40 statewidecampus locations for the Virginia Community College System. These routers are all Cisco 1001X models and includeCisco Prime. The selected vendor will work in collaboration with campus staffs to maintain the routers. NetworkCarrier Coordination WAN services are delivered by Cox, LUMOS, Comcast, Verizon as agent of the VCCS.VCCS reserves the right to add additional equipment of the same or differing types as needs increase or change.A. Managed Service Options (VCCS is considering three tiers: 1. Monitoring and Alerts, 2. RemoteMonitoring and Management, 3. Full Remote Management). Please provide a detailed solution for each ofthe tiers for consideration. The tiers are intended to be representative. Please define your firms approachto meet each level of service. Contractor shall provide 24/7/365 monitoring and alerting from a staffed NOC using a tool that the VCCSstaff can access.i. SNMP and ICMP based;ii. Error Rates on packets sent/received;iii. Traffic Analysis;iv. NAT exceptions. Any service impacting network issues shall be reported within 60 minutes to the Director of EnterpriseServices currently held by Dan Lepore, by means of a phone call. Incident classification of problem or anomaly shall follow a provider defined incident managementprocess. Please provide process within submitted proposal. Provide a clearly defined process for Incident Escalation. Incident Closure shall be by mutual agreement. Determine need to dispatch staff within 90 minutes.
