Specifications

Specifications include, but are not limited to:This project is to safely renovate the navigational lighting system at the Millard E. Tydings Memorial Bridge making it compliant with the latest U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) standards and reducing maintenance and operating costs. The project shall install power supply assemblies consisting of solar powered batteries with a charge controller and LED navigational lights. The proposed lights will utilize the existing pivot arm assemblies. Proposed conduit and junction boxes will be installed as required between the power supply assemblies and navigational lights. The work is from the North bridge abutment to the last navigational lights on pier 9. Once the proposed navigational lights are installed and accepted by the Engineer, the existing navigational lighting system shall be removed in its entirety to include all conduits and conductors back to the power feed at the North abutment. The Contractor shall provide a Life-safety boat patrol and other above-water safety precautions meeting MOSHA/OSHA requirements when its employees perform work above the water. A life-safety boat must be positioned in the water below the bridge for the duration of work that MOSHA/OSHA requires safety-boat patrol. The Contractor shall ensure that qualified operators perform life safety boat patrol.
