Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Illinois Department of Natural Resources, hereinafter referred to as IDNR, manages the Mississippi River Area (MRA) for public benefit. MRA includes fifteen (15) wildlife management areas and thirteen (13) public access areas scattered along 75 miles of the Illinois and Mississippi Rivers. In total, the MRA encompasses more than 24,000 acres. In June of 2008, and several occurrences after, severe flooding washed much of the roadway surface material (gravel) from the access roads and parking areas. This invitation for bid shall replace roadway surface course aggregate at the following three management areas in order to rehabilitate these areas to pre-flood conditions. Rip Rap Landing is the northern most management area, located in Pool 25 on the Mississippi River between river miles 264 and 266. Access to the site is Rt. 96 approximately 2 miles north of the town of Mozier. Reds Landing is located near the center of Pool 25 on the Mississippi River between river miles 252 and 256. Entrance to the site is West County Road approximately 4 miles south of the town of Hamburg. Batchtown is at the south end of Pool 25 on the Mississippi River, between and Lock and Dam 25 and river mile 246. Access to the area can be accomplished via Turner Hollow Road off of the North Mississippi River Road or from Smith Lane off of the South Mississippi River Road.
