Specifications include, but are not limited to:The Contractor shall telephone the Engineer each day telling where his/her starting point isthat day.7. The Contractor shall perform mowing as per Administration mowing guidelines included inthis Contract, or as directed by the Engineer. The Contractor shall be responsible for allareas regardless of ditches or obstructions that may make access difficult. Care shall betaken not to damage existing trees and shrubs, mowing shall be within 6 inches of all trees.All volunteer growth that is less than 10 feet high, especially multiflora rose, sumac andlocust, shall be mowed. Mowed plants shall be cut up enough that they shall lay flat.8. The Contractor shall notify the Engineer, within 24 hours, of any damages caused by theoperation to private or State property. The Contractor shall have a minimum insurancecoverage in the amounts specified elsewhere in the Contract documents.9. The Contractor shall assign to the Contract, as his agent, competent supervision capable ofcommunicating in English, and capable of reading and thoroughly understanding theContract documents.10. The Contractor shall provide all equipment and labor necessary to trim completely aroundthe base of all signposts, traffic barrier posts, delineators, jersey walls, and other verticalobjects. In addition, trimming shall be done in between median traffic barriers. All trimming eachday shall be completed within the area that was mowed that day. Trimming will not be aseparate pay item but will be considered incidental to the item for mowing in this Contract.LITTER PICK-UP1. Prior to mowing or trimming, the Contractor shall pick up litter that is within the area beingmowed or trimmed. In the event that the Engineer finds the litter pickup is not acceptable,the Engineer shall shut down mowing operations until the Contractor has removed the litter.The Contractor shall be responsible for providing trash bags and maintaining an accuraterecord of the number of bags of litter picked up per route. These records shall be available tothe Engineer upon request. The Administration will provide a location for disposing of trashbags. Litter pickup will be paid per acre
