Specifications

Specifications include, but are not limited to:Provide hot meals daily, Monday-Friday, to contracted congregate sites using Re-Therm cart technology. Have the capability to operate on a standard delivery schedule for 5 days a week. Any changes to the standard schedule require 24 hour notice, except in cases of emergency. Exhibit the capacity to change the number of meals served with adequate notice.Provide frozen meals daily, Monday-Friday, for homebound delivery. Have the capability to operate on a standard delivery schedule for 5 days a week. Any changes to the standard schedule require 24 hour notice, except in cases of emergency. Exhibit the capacity to change the number of meals served with adequate notice.Provide cutlery kit with every meal: knife, fork, spoon, napkin, straw, salt and pepper, cups, plates, bowls.Meals provided through this program shall comply with:"Dietary Guidelines for Americans" as issued by the Secretary of Health and Human Services Revised 2015Secretary of Agriculture DRI standards Tennessee Commission on Aging and Disability's established menu standards Requirements of the Older Americans Act, nutrition service standards (Chapter 7) Provide special menus, where feasible and appropriate, to meet the particular dietary needs arising from the health requirements, religious requirements, or other ethnic backgrounds of eligible individuals. Special menus provided for health reasons must comply with the following: A written order from the participant's physician must be on record for each individual on a special diet, and the order must be reviewed semi-annually with the physician. Special menus must be planned and prepared under the supervision of a registered dietitian. Follow Industry standards using HACCP procedures for heating, delivery and serving temperatures for all hot and cold food. High quality meals should be presented with an appealing appearance. Nutrition congregate meal sites are not owned and operated by Metro Social Services.
