Specifications

Specifications include, but are not limited to:The Work under this Contract is to provide all necessary labor, materials and equipmentfor the twenty-four (24) hours a day, seven (7) days a week operation of three (3) highpressure boilers at the Department of Environmental Protections (DEP) Wards IslandWastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP). The Contractor shall also provide all necessarylabor, materials and equipment for the maintenance and repair of these boilers. ThisWork shall include, but not be limited to, scheduled preventative maintenanceinspections, the repair and/or replacement of boiler tubes, boiler tube sheets, boiler gashousing, boiler doors and refractory, burners, controls and gas and fuel oil trains.A. The Contractor shall arrange with the DEP Project Manager to have existing DEPequipment taken out of service, if necessary, for the performance of Work under thisContract. The Contractor shall have no authority to remove any equipment fromservice except under emergency conditions, where a reasonable belief exists on thepart of the Contractor that continued operation of the equipment may cause personalinjury and/or property damage. In the event of such emergency, the Contractor shallimmediately notify the DEP Project Manager and the responsible DEP official incharge of the facility where the Work is taking place.B. All Work shall be performed in strict accordance with the latest instructions of theoriginal equipment manufacturer(s) (OEM). The Contractor shall have its ownaccess to all original equipment materials lists, electrical and manufacturingspecifications, drawings, critical dimensions, tolerances, etc., as well as any specialoperating and maintenance instructions or information necessary to service and repairthe equipment.
