Specifications include, but are not limited to: Device Requirements:1.Robot Table capacity: 6 x SBS positions (127.76 x 85.48 mm) for adapters and Tip Rack Holders; 1 x Master Mix Block; 1 x Reagent Block 2.Tip disposal: All used tips ejected externally no waste accumulation on the worktable 3.Possible tube configurations should include the following:2 x Adapters (96 x 0.2 ml PCR tubes); 1 x Flip-Cap Adapter (32 x 1.5 ml tapered tubes); 1 x Flip-Cap Tube Lifter (32 x 1.5 ml tapered tubes); 1 x Reagent Block (8 x 1.5 ml tapered tubes, 8 x 2 ml free-standing tubes, and 16 x 200 l PCR tubes); 1 x Master Mix Block (1 x 5 ml and 4 x 1.5 ml tubes); 1 x Master Mix Block (5 x 5 ml tubes); 4 x Tip Rack Holders.4.Pipetting head - Single channel, 20150 l/sec pipetting rate (software-controlled) 5.Pipettor must have liquid level sensing through the use of conductive tips (50ul & 200ul volume tips) but must also be able to run with non-conductive tips.6.Precision in Volume Transfer must meet or exceed these specifications: CV <1% for volumes between 5200 l (dry-well transfer); CV <5% for volumes between 25 l (wet-well transfer); CV <10% for a 1 l volume. 7.Tube/Reagent racks must be made of aluminum and removable for storage and refrigeration. 8.Must allow for pipetting into standard formats 96 well plates, 384 well plates.9.Must allow for pipetting into non-standard formats and at least 60 other preset plate definition files. 10.Pipettor must have multi-eject function for repeat pipetting. 11.Pipettor must be designed with helical lead screw allowing for minimal dead air volume, and the dead air volume must be adjustable within the software.12.Robot must have auto height calibration function to set Z height and use Z-head retraction while dispensing. 13.System must incorporate an integrated hood to protect pipetting arm during movement and facilitate a controlled and shielded environment. 14.Must possess an interior UV lamp for pre- and post-run worktable sterilization. 15.Must possess a HEPA-filtered air enclosure with preinstalled dual-cartridge 3M Air-Mate HEPA (High Efficiency Particulate Air) filter system that provides positive pressure clean air within the closed hood. Software & User Interface:16.Calculation of reagent needs according to the specified number of reactions and replicates.17.Options for tip re-use Import and export of sample names. 18.Pre- and post-run reports, including worktable setup guide.19.Software must be easily upgradeable, free of charge, without any licensing fees associated.20.Software must be able to support commonly used qPCR and Forensic STR-PCR reaction setup protocols. Additionally, the robot must be programmable to automate the preparation of samples using the ForenSeq DNA Signature Prep KitTM (Cat #: TG 450-1001; Illumina, Inc.) for DNA sequence-based STR and SNP analysis.21.Software must support setup wizards for ease of use in programming such as the generation and preparation of a standard curve dilution series varied from 1:2 to 1:10 fold dilution.22.Software must be able to import sample names easily from any existing sample management system and export sample information to any real-time thermal cycling system.23.Software must generate a diagnostic email report and bundle relevant files for technical assistance with a single mouse click. 24.The robot should be able to run in a virtual mode to allow for the simulation and development of new protocols. 25.Wizards enable fast development and optimization of protocols for forensic DNA analysis.26.Ability to normalize final template concentrations based on importing data directly from LIMS/Excel systems and setup intermediate dilutions plates if needed. 27.Ability to prepare at least four separate master mixes in a single runMinimum computer requirements: 28.Windows 7 Professional (32 bit) or Windows XP Professional SP3, Microsoft Internet Explorer (version 8 or higher), at least 2.5 GHz CPU, at least 2 GB RAM, RS-232 serial port or USB 2.0 port or PCMCIA slot (for notebook only), DVD/CD-ROM, 800 MB free hard drive capacity, at least 1024 x 768 screen resolution. 29.Robot comes supplied with a notebook computer. Service will be provided within a 48 hour response time. Also included is an annual preventative maintenance visit which includes one on-site pipetting head service and inspection per year. Priority service provision over non-contract custormers to include documented installation & PM reports. 36.
