Specifications include, but are not limited to: History Colorado owns and operates Georgetown Loop Railroad, the Lebanon Mine and the Everett Mine, located in Georgetown, Colorado. Both mines are currently operated as tourist sites. The Lebanon Mine has approximately 20,000 visitors per season and currently there is only one entrance and one exit via the tunnel portal. History Colorado wants to mitigate risk to the public by constructing a secondary egress connecting both tunnels by excavating a pedestrian cross passageway between the two tunnels. The goal is to open the Everett to its full length of approximately 768 feet from its portal. The Everett Tunnel is currently blocked by a cave-in located approximately 205 feet from the tunnel portal. The first phase of construction is to support the ground above and around the cave-in, excavate the rock from the cave-in area, survey and map the geology of the Everett Tunnel, and complete lighting run to the end of the tunnel. If other rock slides are encountered in the process of this portion of work, we will address with funds earmarked for add alternates. If the Everett portion of the project is successfully completed, we will address the add alternates if remaining funds are adequate.
