Focusing on children ages 0-8, the geographic scope of this project includes Aurora, Bennett, Byers, and Strasburg. The collaboration of partners involved is large and includes, among others, TCHD, Aurora Mental Health Center, the Arapahoe County Early Childhood Council, and Children's Hospital Colorado's Child Health Advocacy Institute. This funding opportunity will enable the partnership brought together by this work to move toward its goal that all families in the target area have services to meet their needs; that pregnant women have access to parenting resources and support; and that all children are on track with their social and emotional development by the age of 8, as exhibited by self-control, good interpersonal skills and no behavioral problems. This is a 7-month planning grant during which time the partnership is responsible for an environmental scan, community readiness assessment, and strategic plan. The partnership has the opportunity to apply, in June, 2016, for the 3-year implementation part of the project (Phase II). Scope of Services: The contracted Project Coordinator will serve as the main staff person of this project [grant period December 1, 2015 - June 30, 2016]. S/he will coordinate the implementation of the established work plan [which will be developed in December 2015], coordinate meeting logistics and team communication, and make sure timelines are met and the work continues to move forward. This involves not only project coordination, individually and as part of the larger team, but also producing the three deliverables noted below. The contractor is expected to complete the majority of this work. S/he will work closely with key staff at TCHD and partner agencies. There are three main deliverables for this project for this contractor; it is expected that these deliverables be completed in collaboration with the partnership and key staff: 1.
