Specifications include, but are not limited to:Specifications for ion chromatography systemThe Ion Chromatography system to be quoted must meet the following specifications. In order todetermine the true cost of ownership pricing for replacement consumables must also be providedalong with a copy of the current published price list for those items.OVERVIEW OF IC SYSTEM:1) Must be a totally integrated and preconfigured ion chromatograph consisting ofa pump, conductivity detector; degas assembly, electrically controlled eluent on-off valve, conductivity cell, electrically controlled injector valve, suppressor, andcolumns.2) Must have inert, nonmetallic PEEK (polyether ether ketone) fluidic componentsthroughout the system to ensure solvent compatibility and metal contamination-freechromatography.3) Must have the ability to add an optional column heater. The column heater must operateover the range of 30 to 60 deg. C with an accuracy of +/-0.5 deg. C at 40 deg. C andcapable of preheating the eluent.4) Must be capable of adding eluent regeneration or eluent generation capabilities.5) Suppressor must be operated continuously. Suppressor regeneration must be carried outeither chemically or electrolytically.6) Instrument must permit field installation of an optional integrated electrically activated 6-port or 10-port valve for automating sample preparation operations such as on-line matrixelimination and/or on-line filtration, as well as large loop/small loop injections controlled bythe data system.7) Must allow for advanced single-range digital output that is auto-ranging with operating rangeto 15,000 uS/cmfull-scale and single-range analog signal output to 15,000 uS/cm.8) Must utilize optical leak detection for laboratory safety and management to allow fastresponse to system leaks.9) Must have available built-in vacuum degas assembly which provides in-line degassingof eluents ensuring reproducibility and protection of eluents from contamination anddecomposition. Control of the degas operation must be able to be automated to sense whendegassing is required.10) The IC system must meet the requirements of EPA Method 300.1 Part A and Part BPUMPING SYSTEM:1) Must be a serial dual piston PEEK pump design. The pump must be microprocessorcontrolled constant stroke, variable speed. The heads must be compatible with aqueous eluents of pH 014 and reversed-phase solvents. The pump must be fully controlled through software; alternative control via TTL or relay closures. The maximum operating pressure must be at least 5000 psi, pressure ripple <1.0 % at 1.0 mL/minute and 2000 psi, flow rate range at least 0.05 to 5.0 mL/min in 0.01 increments without changing pump heads, flow precision typically <0.1%, and flow accuracy typically <0.1 %
