Specifications include, but are not limited to:Inmate health care: The Contractor shall be the sole contractor and/or coordinator of the CCSO HealthCare Delivery System. The Contractor shall be responsible for all medical care, mental health care, dentalcare, including dialysis treatment, sutures, and x-rays, for Clarke County Jail inmates.a. The responsibility for providing health care commences with the commitment of an inmate to thecustody of the Clarke County Sheriffs Office and ends with the discharge of the inmate.b. Contractor shall identify the need, schedule, coordinate and pay for all non-emergency andemergency medical care rendered to Clarke County Jail inmates. Contractor shall administeremergency medical care at the Clarke County Jail to any employee or visitor of the Clarke CountyJail who requires such care. Contractor shall be required to render emergency care at any locationon Clarke County Jail property.c. Contractor shall identify the need, schedule, coordinate and pay for any inpatient hospitalizationof any inmate of the Clarke County Jail, subject to the defined hospitalization limits. This shallinclude all institutional charges, physician charges and any and all other additional charges. Thisalso includes responsibility for making emergency arrangements for ambulance service to theinpatient facility and reimbursement to the local ambulance organization for the services provided.d. The Contractor shall be required to execute an agreement with the hospital or its agency. Theselected Contractor is, of course, free to negotiate with other local institutions for the inpatienttreatment of inmates. An executed copy of the agreement shall be provided to the Sheriffs Officewithin 60 days of execution of the contract to provide inmate healthcare.e. Contractor shall identify the need, schedule, coordinate and pay for all physician and dentalservices rendered to inmates inside or outside the Clarke County Jail. At a minimum, Contractorshall identify a "responsible physician" who shall conduct sick call and generally provide suchcare as is available in the community. The "responsible physician" or other covering physicianshall be on call seven (7) days per week, twenty-four (24) hours per day for emergency situations.
