Specifications include, but are not limited to:. The Cage Wetland Mitigation Bank is situated on a farm located at 3150 Lloyd Bowen Road in St.Leonard, Maryland within Calvert County.The site area is accessed from Cage Road which iswithin the farm parcel.A region of the bank has incurred invasion of Phragmities Australis. Thisarea is known as Wetland 1, Region B and is located adjacent to the Patuxent River. A locationmap is shown in Figure 1. An aerial view of the area, Figure 2, shows the approximate limits ofinfestation as a dashed line. It is estimated that Phragmities Australis accounts for approximately20% of the wetland vegetation present within this region. Phragmities Australis infestation is alsopresent on the outer perimeter of this region.The management goal is eradication of Phragmities Australis within the wetland region describedabove.3.SCOPE OF WORKThe Contractor shall furnish all labor, material, equipment, and supervision necessary for thechemical application spraying of Rodeo. Use of an alternate herbicide other than Rodeo is strictlyprohibited.The Contractor shall provide three (3) treatments per year for 2016 and 2017. In each year thefirst treatment shall be completed in April or May, the second in June or July, and the third inSeptember. The final treatment shall be completed in September of 2017.17A.TheeradicationofPhragmitiesAustralis alongtheouterperimetershallbeaccomplished by cutting/mowing, chemical application spraying with Rodeo or acombination of both.B.There is a berm around the wetland which is dry and has some grasses growing onit. The Contractor shall cut and/or mow the berm.C.A buffer distance of thirty feet (30) from the outside of the base of the berm shall beestablished for the outer perimeter area and shall be sprayed.D.A marking agent such as a dye of foam agent shall be utilized in the application ofRodeo.Allherbicidelabelguidelinesandrestrictionsforrecommendedrates,application timing, adjuvant, rain fastness, temperature restrictions, and wind-speedrestrictions shall be followed during the application operation.A pesticide applicationrecord shall be provided to the County within 24 hours of the application.E.Herbicide low-volume foliar backpack treatment application of Rodeo shall be utilizedon Phragmities Australis.Use of mobile equipment shall be accomplished in amanner to minimize damage to an adjacent desirable wetland species with theexception of Typha Latifolia (Cattail) within the wetland region and shall not damageexisting groundwater monitoring wells adjacent to the perimeter of this region.Atotal of five (5) groundwater monitoring wells are adjacent to this region and aremarked via orange fiberglass stakes.F.Mechanical cutting of Phragmities Australis within the outer perimeter buffer areashall be done at ground level and let lay.
