Specifications include, but are not limited to:The Contractor shall furnish all labor, supervision, equipment, tools, parts and materials, necessary to provide Intra-State Carrier Services as follows:A. All full truckloads (FTL) trailers shall be a 53 Dry Van. For this purpose of this solicitation Trailers will be considered a 53 Dry Van.B. Pick-Up:All Pick-Ups will occur during regular business hours: 8AM 3:00 P.M. EST, Monday through Friday.Normal Pick-Up: Contractor shall have an empty replacement trailer staged at VIB-C dock at all times. These trailers shall be at VIB-C docks 24 hours in advance so mattresses can be hand loaded onto trailers. Trailers may be traded out after business hours by the Contractor. Upon pick up, an empty replacement trailer shall be staged the same day. Should more than one trailer be required for reloading, a second trailer shall be staged 24 hours before scheduled pick up, for all full truck deliveries. Normal Pick-up will be defined as only including mattresses.Special Pick-Up: VIB-C could need two (2) trailers; one for mattresses and one for mixed delivery during college season or for split orders. The Contractor shall supply two (2) trailers when the Agency requests it. Special Pick-ups will be defined as pick-ups including mattresses and other items.C.Delivery:1.Contact information and scheduling requirements will be on each Bill of Landing (BOL) that is faxed to the Contractor 24 hours in advance of each pick-up, by the VIB Shipping and Handling Clerk. Contractor will be required to notify delivery address twenty-four (24) hours in advance of each delivery, to schedule a time of delivery. Delivery sites will not be able to accept trailers that were not prescheduled for delivery. Colleges often require the trailer to be left overnight for onsite delivery and installation, if needed this will be noted on the Bill of Landing. Prisons, mental hospitals and VDC will not accept any Dry Van deliveries that are not prescheduled, with at least 24 hour notice.2.Certain circumstances may require more than 24 hour notice, or pre-scheduling. For example, some College installations require prescheduling, at least two (2) weeks in advance, by the VIB Shipping and Handling Clerk, because the truck loads will need to be available to meet both the Colleges and contracted installers schedule.3. The Contractor shall pick-up and then off load LTLs, or Less Than Truck Load, at the Contractors warehouse for delivery. Once at the delivery destination a LTL delivery is typically unloaded within two hours. No unloading times are guaranteed or implied under this Contract. No demurrage charges shall be considered. An example of a potential unloading delay could be a vehicle already unloading at the dock or vehicles have been illegally parked and will require time to be moved.4.The Contractor shall deliver all requested Contract items within three (3) calendar days after pick-up of items to be delivered.
