Specifications

Specifications include, but are not limited to:TEAR OFF:* Old shingles and underlayment shall be removed and disposed of properly.* All nails should be driven down or pulled after removal of old shingles.* If plywood is found to be deteriorating or weak it must be replaced. GRC will provide the plywood. A per sheet price to replace will be negotiated.* All valley tin and metal roof edging shall be removed and disposed of properly.INSTALLATION:*GAF Timberline lifetime warranty shingles or equivalent.*All underlayment shall be replaced with a minimum 30 lb. felt.* When installing D-metal and gutter apron, full lengths of material shall be used. No use of multiple short pieces on long runs.* All gutter apron and D-metal shall run the full length of rakes and eaves (no voids).* When gutter apron is being installed, remove gutter hangers and install gutter apron. Do not cut around gutter hangers.* When putting gutter back up, proper pitch shall be re-established for drainage and be tucked up behind gutter apron.* When gutter apron and D-metal is installed, it shall not be bent or creased.* D-metal shall have a 2 INCH minimal overlap between pieces.* New D-metal or gutter apron shall lay flat and extend down to properly cover the edge of the sheeting and the upper edge of the fascia.* When underlayment is installed over gutter apron it shall not overhang more then 1/4" INCH.* Underlayment needs to overlap valley leak barrier by at least 6 INCHES.* Install ice and water shield from eave to a minimal 24 INCHES beyond the inside wall line.* Ice and water shield needs to be installed in every valley.* A minimum of 20 INCH wide, 24-gauge aluminum, galvanized steel or other non-corroding, non-staining metals shall be used for the valleys. No lacing of shingles.* Valley tin shall be installed with just the heads of nails holding it in place. There shall be no nails driven through tin.* All step flashing needs to be installed in a proper manner.* Starter strip shall overhang eaves and rakes INCHES to INCHES for drip edge.* When installing rake starter, it needs to overlap eave starter a minimum of 3 INCHES.
