Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Monument Soil & Water ConservationDistrict seeks proposals fromqualified contractors on a project toimprove wetland and riparian habitats ona 9.7 acre wetland adjacent to the NorthFork John Day River in Monument,Oregon. The Cavender Wetland Enhancementproject includes1) construction ofa Large Wood Habitat Structure andBank Protection Structure along thestreambank of the river, 2) excava tion ofoxbow-style side channels within thewetland area, 3) construction of SmallWood Habitat Structures within the newwetland channels, 4) lowering of theexisting levee to the 2-year water surfaceelevation of the river, 5) installation of a700 liner foot Juniper Rootwad Fencealong the lowered levee, 6) constructionof approximately 1,375 feet of barbedwire livestock exclusion fence, and 7) siterestoration and planting. Total excavationvolumes are estimated at 30,000 cubicyards.
