Specifications include, but are not limited to:Work with clinical sites currently conducting routine HIV testing under the Expanded HIV Testing grant fromthe Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to make testing sustainable through implementation of 3rd partybilling processes. Sites include, but are not limited to, community health centers, hospital emergency roomsand community service boards (See attached list of existing sites Attachment A6) Encourage sites to incorporate routine STI screening and HCV screening for appropriate populations. Work with sites to ensure process to protect confidentiality of the patient with regard to distribution ofExplanation of Benefits (EOB). Assist sites with all aspects of implementation of billing processes, which can include, but is not limited to,working with insurance companies to determine reimbursement rates, determining best test technology touse, training for ICD-10 codes, process for distribution of test results, paperwork flow for CTR forms, andprocesses for invoicing VDH for uninsured patients. Provide ongoing technical assistance for all aspects of implementation of 3rd party billing for routine HIV,STI, and HCV screening.2. Identify clinical sites where routine HIV testing would be appropriate based on population served by the siteand work with them to implement sustainable routine HIV testing. Sites may include, but are not limited to, community health centers, hospital emergency rooms, communityservice boards, drug treatment centers, urgent care centers, and primary care providers. Encourage sites to incorporate routine STI screening and HCV screening for appropriate populations. Work with sites to ensure process to protect confidentiality of the patient with regard to distribution ofExplanation of Benefits (EOB). Coordinate training regarding HIV testing, HCV testing, and STI testing. Assist sites with all aspects of implementation of billing processes including working with insurancecompanies regarding reimbursement rates, determining best test technology to use, training for ICD-10codes, paperwork flow, etc. Provide ongoing technical assistance for all aspects of 3rd party billing for routine HIV screening.
