Specifications

Specifications include, but are not limited to:Regular and special education transportation services shall be provided each day that schools are in session. The estimated value of this portion of the bid is $8 million annually based upon previous years expenditures; however, this amount is not guaranteed, and may be more or less depending on the Districts needs. Regular and special education services shall be provided by means of school buses or non-conforming vehicles suitable for safely transporting pupils to and from their destinations. All home-to-school transportation will be provided according to route design specifications as established by the District or its designee. School bus transportation will be provided using a mixed fleet consisting of: Transit buses (78 passenger +), Ambulatory vans (minimum 18 passenger), and Wheelchair vans (minimum 5 wheelchair and 2 ambulatory passengers).
