Our Mission is to strengthen families and communities through a safety-net of services, collaborations, and hope. The Youth and Family Services Division (YFS) provides services and information to protect children by strengthening the capacity for self-sufficiency o f f a m i l i e s w h o s e c h i l d r e n s h e a l t h , w e l f a r e a n d s a f e t y a r e a t r i s k . YFS serves children in custody by providing a safe, nurturing environment through placements in Foster Care Homes and Facilities. DSS is interested in Service Providers that can provide High Need Residential Group Home Services for children with Complex Needs, Substance Abuse, Mental Health Issues, Recently Released from Jail or Detention, who cause sexual harm ,AWOL, exiting Psychiatric Residential Treatment Facility (PRTF) and inpatient Psychiatric care. Multiple Disabilities or Behavioral Problems that m a y b e l a b e l e d a s h a r d t o p l a c e The County is soliciting proposals from qualified vendors to provide the following: 4.2. General Requirements 4.2.1 DSS YFS staff will determine placement of the child 4.2.2 Placement changes must be approved by Mecklenburg County Resource Development staff 4.2.3 Each child will be approved for an initial stay of up to 30 days. 4.2.4 Children can have this extended for 30 days at a time but cannot stay longer than 90 days to allow emergency placement of other children in need. 4.2.5 Children who have no clinical home at admission, the Service Provider will serve as the clinical home 4.2.6 The department at its discretion can approve stays of longer than 90 days on a case by case basis
