Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (DNR) request proposals from interested consulting engineering firms for professional services to perform all work necessary to prepare a feasibility report and prepare construction plans and specifications for the Heartland Trail Acorn Lake Segment. The Acorn Lake Segment is part of a larger project to develop a bicycle/snowmobile trail between Detroit Lakes and Frazee. The Acorn Lake Segment would begin at Woods Drive and terminate at Rew Lane a length of approximately 4500 feet. The trail would parallel Acorn Lake Road for approximately 1300 feet and then roughly parallel US 10 along the steep slope and north of the lake to Rew Lane (see enclosed preliminary alignment). The trail will have a 10 wide bituminous surface and 2 gravel shoulders. The trail must be designed to comply with the Minnesota Department of Transportation (Mn/DOT) Bikeway Facility Design Manual and ADA accessibility standards.
