Specifications include, but are not limited to:Cut: Turf shall be cut at a height of three and half (3-1/2) inches. All mowing equipmentshall be equipped with sharp blades achieving a quality cut. Contractor shall, at thebeginning of each cycle remove all trash and litter from the entire area prior to initiating anymowing of the turf areas. All park structures, trees, poles, tables, signs, fences, and shrubbeds are to be trimmed. Special care shall be given to string trimming around small trees asnot to inflict damage to the bark of the trees.String Trimming: All string trimming shall be accomplished maintaining therequired 3-112" cutting height and must be performed concurrently with mowingoperations.Sidewalk edge maintenance: String trimmers are to be used to maintainvertical edges on concrete sidewalks and curbs.Path/Trail/Track edge maintenance: String trimmer must be operatedhorizontally to not damage surface.Includes: "Spray Park"facility - Grass clippings inside the fenced area arerequired to be collected/bagged during aquatic season - Memorial Day throughLabor DayRemoval of sucker growth from tree bases: Contractor will be responsible for manualremoval of all sucker growth from the base and lower trunk of trees within the projectarea during each maintenance cycle. Sucker growth should never be more than a heightof 8" and when trimmed must be trimmed flush to the ground.Detail/Finish: Grass clippings and debris must be removed from all hardscapes i.e. growthin sidewalk, gutter, hardscapes, and parking lots, before the exit of the crew from theimmediate work site. Upon completion of "Mowing Cycle" turf areas shall be free ofclumped grass and tire tracks or ruts left by equipment. Turf shall be cut in a professionalmanner so as not to scalp turf or leave areas of uncut grass.
