Specifications include, but are not limited to:The Contractor must provide a program of grocery shopping and escorted grocery shopping services to lowincome,disabled County residents aged 60 and older from one to four times per month per client asrequired/desired by the client. Clients under 60 years old who receive service under the existing Contract for thisprogram are eligible to continue receiving services on a grandfathered basis.A. The Contractor must:1. accept referrals for this service from County social service programs, other public and privateagencies, individuals, and family members and friends of potential clients.2. maintain a minimum ongoing caseload of 100 clients at all times, starting with the client poolexisting as of September 30, 2016;3. determine client eligibility using the criteria provided by the County in Attachment J. TheContractor must maintain documentation of each clients eligibility determination, and make itavailable for the Countys review upon request;RFP # 1060252Revised 09/15 194. develop and maintain a Client wait list, if needed; and5. refer Clients to the Countys Aging & Disability Resource Unit at 240-777-3000, for otherresources and services as needed or if volunteers become aware of changes in Clientscircumstances.B. The Contractor must provide grocery shopping services which include, but are not limited to:1. taking orders for groceries from Clients;2. selecting and shopping for food and other household items and prescriptions commonly availableat local grocery stores;3. delivering items in a timely manner to the Clients home, and providing quality assurance thatfrozen and refrigerated foods arrive in a safe and acceptable manner to prevent contamination;4. handling Clients finances related to payment for delivered items; and5. handling Clients requests for out-of-stock or unavailable items.
