Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Whitfield County Board of Commissioners requests bids from qualified bidders for grinding and mulching of timber harvest residue (slash, stumps, and regrowth sprouts) at the Carbondale Business Park. Timber was removed from the majority of the property in 2013. Regrowth has started, but sprouts are 1.5 inches or less in diameter. The large majority of timber removed was pine. Stumps averaged 12-14 inches in diameter. The purpose of this project is to grind stumps and remaining slash to the soil surface or slightly below without causing disturbance that would require an erosion control plan and land disturbance permit. Preferably, a mulching head attached to a loader, skidsteer, or other piece of equipment would be used to do the job.
