Specifications

Specifications include, but are not limited to: The County will be responsible to complete the initial assessment to determine if the customer is in need of a Person Emergency Response System (PERS) and establish eligibility for this service. The Vendor will provide all of the necessary equipment to activate this service including the base unit, activation button, fall detection (if requested) and any and all other equipment that makes the system fully activated and usable by the customer. The system will be fully tested to ensure connectivity to the base and the monitoring station. Once activated the PERS system shall remain active until otherwise canceled by the authorized representative of the County. STANDARDS: When awarded the vendor will contact the referred customer to set up an installation time convenient for both parties. At that time the vendor will install all of the necessary equipment and test all equipment for proper functionality. Equipment must have a redundancy mechanism to ensure operation during any power outages. The vendor will provide as authorized by the County the most appropriate service for the customer with the options of landline, cellular or mobile system, and the availability of fall detection if needed. All equipment must be UL approved and meet all FCC standards. The vendor must have a 24 hour monitoring station that is staffed by trained professionals that provide the required service and have access to contact information for all emergency personnel, family members, and any and all contact information established with the customer. In the event of emergency service and/or third party assistance, the monitoring staff must maintain constant contact with the customer until assistance arrives or the situation is resolved to the satisfaction of the customer. Installed medical alert equipment must include enhanced speaker and voice capabilities that permit the customer to communicate with the monitoring station with the loss of customer mobility. The winning bidder for this service will need to have the ability to activate approximately 100 new customers by April 1 st , 2016.
